Dr. Tulin Cil
Gattuso Chair in Breast Surgical Oncology
Dr. Cil (she/her) leads a variety of studies in the field of health services research, with a focus on breast cancer. In 2020, she was appointed as the Gattuso Chair in Breast Surgical Oncology. Dr. Cil’s research spans topics including robotic surgical techniques, psychosocial impacts of breast cancer, and most recently, the development of a virtual care platform for breast cancer patients. Dr. Cil is also affiliated with the Wilson Centre at UHN where her research in surgical education focuses on innovative teaching strategies and mechanisms of learning surgical skills.
Emma Reel
Research Coordinator
Emma Reel (she/her) is a research coordinator and a trained social worker (MSW with a focus on Social Justice and Diversity). She has been involved in a variety of research studies including community-based research with racialized groups, newcomers and immigrants, and those with precarious status. Drawing on her experiences living with type 1 diabetes, Emma is passionate about research that works in partnership with patients to improve care and quality of life.


Jordan Cleland
Research Assistant
Jordan Cleland (she/her) is a research assistant, registered social worker, and death doula. She has her Master of Social Work (University of Toronto), a certification in Contemplative End of Life Care (Institute of Traditional Medicine), and demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative studies (UHN, York University). Jordan has a particular interest in ensuring equity in research methodologies, as well as improving outcomes for patients navigating the healthcare system through all stages of their lives.
